In excellent mechanical condition, with cosmetic restoration requirements to be mint again. It's an off road bike though you know, so it's up to you.
It's reasonably stock, with a stainless exhaust system (Motad headers and a no-name, legal muffler), slightly longer gearing for occasional motorway ...

Re: XTZ660 Fork Damper T-Bar Tool
Fantastic. Even if I have to buy a 27mm bolt that sounds like a winner.

XTZ660 Fork Damper T-Bar Tool
I have just done a fork service and inspection on my 3YF. It appears the big allen bolt that holds the damper in place is not tighened on one side. It's marked in my manual as "63Nm with Loctite", so I feel that's an important thing to rectify.

3YF Flywheel Puller
My starter clutch is a little intermittent. I was looking for a reasonably priced flywheel puller to get access and learning how to replace it.
Does anyone know if this particularly reasonable product fits the 3YF? It is labelled for the XT600, but also qualifies that it fits "many Yamaha models ...

1991 XTZ660 3YF Service Manual
This is floating around, you can buy it off eBay. But I have just spent a couple of hours recognising text and adding bookmarks to make it a bit easier to navigate. Thought I'd share.

SOLVED: Mystery Charging Issue
Thanks Andy. I had tried getting them out, but unfortunately they were well and truly stuck, probably because the housing had melted a bit in the past. And replacing the connector with another generic 4-way was difficult because on the '91 here, the connector pictured goes straight into the ...

Re: Mystery Charging Issue
Thank you all. I decided to do a bit of a sort out and service on the wiring in the charging system as part of the investigation. A lot of the connectors we're quite corroded as to be expected with age so hopefully that will help.
However I think I've spotted something, the black plastic connector ...

Mystery Charging Issue
I'm having problems with the charging system, but I'm not really sure what it is. Not terrible problems, just slightly frustrating ones. Does anyone have any experience with the following issues?
Symptoms:
Engine running, headlight off, things seem fine, good charging voltage.
Headlight on, and I ...

For Sale: XT600Z 3AJ Tall Touring Screen
I totally forgot to mention here that I'm selling a tall touring screen for a XT600Z 3AJ. I never fitted it in the end so it's brand new, made by Slipscreens. Great company, reasonably priced screens, range of options. I have a similar one on my XTZ660 now. £30 including UK postage on eBay ...
