Hi Andy,
Thanks so much this was an excellent guide to help!
I adjusted the carbs as you suggested to the 7mm measurement! The bikes response has improved significantly, acceleration feels more powerful and seems to run less hot! Really pleased with this so appreciate your guidance.

Thanks for the part recommendations and advice!
Heres some more info!
The Problem: The bike is a bit tricky to start, but when running cant rev above 3000x rpm. Its a noisy affair, spluttering, bangs, choppy rev.

Replacement YDIS Carb Diaphragm
Hi there,
I believe I've diagnosed the following:
The diaphragm on the second carb has warped slightly and doesn't sit correct in the seating. This results in a poor seal, causing the bike to splutter and be unable to rev above 3000rpm.
I want to replace the part: 1JK-14940-01, but can only find ...

Re: Choke Plunger Recommendations
Aye gang thanks for the advice! I've held onto the old choke parts and replaced the broken cable with a Yam Bits replacement. Will let you know how it goes and will try and keep an eye out for a cheaper carb attached option!

Choke Plunger Recommendations
Hello folks!
I'm working my way through my 88' 3aj and have just finished cleaning my carbs.
However i have decided to try and source a new choke plunger set up (Nothing to do with me snapping a worn choke cable), preferably that attaches straight to the carb.
With some research and trawling of ...

Manuals for the 3AJ
Hi there folks,
I've come into ownership of a 1988 3AJ, which has since taken me from Bristol to Madrid on the TET trails.
I've managed to slowly and clunkily make my way through basic maintenance and emergency issues, however a full rebuild is on the horizon.
