Re: POWER

How far do you intend to go with tuning?

...hopefully...not far away...I 'll stick with the classic, the usual (exhaust-carbs) since the engine is brand new (14.000 KMs) and would be a same to start tinckering about "camshafts, big bore high compression pistons, etc". It's not only a matter of ...

Re: Getting the 660 where I want it ???

I think that' it's already mentioned, but a simple, cheap, and quick way of avoiding possible troubles with the gearing, is a more "close-ratio" secondary drive. In simple words, adding couple of "tooths" in the back-wheel sprocket or reducing 1 tooth of the front-axle one. (1 tooth less from the ...

Re: POWER

Rick, the hype about the "Raptor 660 carbs BSR33" among the various 660 Yamaha engines is wellknown.

I have no clue at all, just researching. I 've picked up a -rare- bargain for 1500 euro, 2003 MZ 660 Baghira StreetMoto, almost brandnew (14.000 KMs). Due to low sales (at least here in Greece) it's ...

Re: Getting the 660 where I want it ???

Having studied and searching a lot! about the 5th gear failure, on XT motors (both aircooled 600cc and watercooled 660cc) I 've concluded to that...

Shit happens all the time...when you are around 'em.....(explain)...

There are riders who UPshift gears with clutch-lever engaging but with "Full ...

Re: Getting the 660 where I want it ???

Any thoughts Rick, suggestions, whateva, on better carbs?

Has anyone fitted something differenet than the "so-so must" of Raptor atv BSR33 carbs? (or BST...cant remember now...)

For example, what about a donation from the latest TTR600 (1998-...conventional forks), that uses 2x30mm Teikei ...

Re: WTF

First of all...please...dont get me wrong...I didnt write all that stuff, just for spoiling Yamaha.
Fact is that this welding is wrong. I think it's more than obvious. And I get so mad, cause I ride Only Yamaha and do not like to feel cheated. Besides if I didnt care enough, most possible and ...

Re: WTF

I think that the problem exists in specific "years of production".

The 3AJ, was (lets say) similar enough with the 2KF. It was "upgraded" with the Iron swingarm and with the rear brake disc, just as the 2KF was, in comparison to the previous 43F with the rear drum.

We also know that they 've been ...

Re: WTF

I can assure you, that this "specific welding"...Does Not serve for any better at all, about the carbs. In fact, had done it worse, cause that left "side-bone" tube, is even closer to the left carb and that for sure creates more problems (in handling and setting the carb) than solves some of 'em ...
