Nice bike Andy! Is your son going to ride it?

Re: Dan's not another blue 1VJ

Nice update again!
Does drilling the hubs not weaken them, or do they have enough meat?

Re: Dan's not another blue 1VJ

Looks nice again Dan!

Did you mount that GPR header already an a bike? Curious to see how high it sits. I have a stainless header on my 3AJ but it’s quite close to the fuel petcock.

Re: Ott's 1VJ

Thanks! I have a stainless steel header on my 3AJ, but where the 2 downpipe connect is a bit close to the fuel petcock, so I possibly want a different one.

Re the smoking on start-up. Have you checked the oil-return valve? It that spring is weak it wil allow oil from your oiltank into the crankcase ...

Re: Ott's 1VJ

I might have missed it, but where did you buy that stainless exhaust header? It looks well made and the routing seems to better suit my 3AJ that the one I currently have.

Re: Dan's blue 1VJ

So.... what happened to the original moulds?

I am actually trying to get hold of a pair of JRE side panels for the 1vj.

Has anyone considered other ...

Re: Dan's blue 1VJ

I'm by no means a perfectionist, and as said most panels are fine, but the side panels are 1 mm (with paint) on the rear side, which is just too thin to be taken off regularly. I have some extra OEM sidepanels to put on to fix this.

You said in advance that they were not OEM, and I did not expect ...

Re: Dan's blue 1VJ

I have them on my XTZ750 and while they're cheap, they are also too weak for the side panels, which you take of regularly. I don't know if I would buy them again, because they stopped responding to my emails as well. If you buy them for the XTZ750, get some OEM sidepanels to go with the rest (which ...

Re: Mezo`s OEM Manuals for sale.

No probs :) It would have been nice to have, but I have all the info I need to work on my 3AJ :)

Cheers,

Re: Mezo`s OEM Manuals for sale.

If TenereNZ loses interest in the 3AJ one, I might have interest (depending on shipping to NL and your price ;) )
