The cam chain tensioner automatically extends as your cam chain stretches. There is no manual adjustment. Remove large bolt and then remove tensioner assembly to see how far out it is. Install new cam chain on these engines if it has extended more than 3/4 of full extension.

are you sure your choke/ starter tube O ring is in good condition and/ or not missing? if is in bad shape fuel will not be drawn out of the fuel bowl and into starter fuel circuit. how did you go? I never use full choke unless it is very cold ie under 10C. Always have better success with starting pulling choke out about 2/3 and always fresh fuel. If bike has been sitting for a while always drain out any fuel in the carb bowl and let it refill from tank. The carb bowls are ...
