Re: Rim cracks
My TT350 has had crack like that in the front rim for a few years now. I keep meaning to do something about it but it's in the off road rim so will probably rot from the inside and all the spokes will fall out first...

I've only had the s10 for about a week, drove to Adelaide to get it last Friday. Been looking for a couple of years but the few that come up have usually been modified and 'butchered' and I just wanted an honest original example and that's pretty much what I got.
Cost was about $5k, huge money for the age but they're getting quite rare now, just like any good older Tenere.
P.S. Does anyone know how many 750's were sold in Oz? I had an idea it was about 300???
Uncle Dave
I must have the twin. Like you I looked for a long time before finding this one.
Dropped it on the 1st ride!! You can see the details on my post in Aug 2011. Dont know howmany were sold in Aus but there are not to many good ones left around

Re: Rim cracks
Love the S10.... looks in good nick for an Aussie bike.....
If it was me I'd change the rim, I wouldn't be happy
riding around with a cracked rim...........

Re: Rim cracks
I've ordered a pair of rims with HD stainless spokes. Pretty expensive but do it right and do it once.

Sm Pro Platinum in 1.85 x 21 front and 3.5 x 17 rear. Don't know part numbers, sorry.Wy'east wrote:What rims did you order? Mfg & part #? Looking to do the same on the front. I think I'd go for 3.5 x 18 for the rear next time as I can get a better selection of offroad tyres.

Re: Rim cracks
Thanks. Found this list for SM, http://users.powernet.co.uk/cwc/smpropl ... tlist.html
Don't see a 17" for the rear. Anyway, for me to put on an 18" rear, I'd have to keep a 17" just for the MOT/DMV inspection as the tyre sizes are written on the license. I'd love an 18" with the Dunlop D908.
They now have us doing the inspection every 6 months for bikes 20 years and +. I know for a fact that my bike is in better shape than those half its age.
I was looking at the Excels too. Rear is getting harder to find I think. The front is going to need replacing here in the next year, it's almost knackered to the point of no return.

Re: Rim cracks
They don't even allow you to change tire size?
I think I'd get a new set of 18" and put the old 17" for the MOT test, then take them off when I get home.
