Looks like I have to star all over again. With forks that is. Whole lot of oil pouring out of the left hand seal of the fork. This will the the fourth time I have had to rebuild these forks.

Gees Dan,whats happening, are you getting good fork seals from a reputable source?

I get the feeling. It is the fork tube itself.

I think. I read one on one of the rebuilds here. To sand your forks down with 1200 grit sand paper to the shine off and stop what is happening to me.

Is the stanchion straight Dan? I can't see how 1200 grit is going to fix a seal problem.

I agree with Shano, I've had highly polished stanchions with no probs.

Did you check for "wobble" between the stanchion & slider without the oil seal fitted? (the oil seal masks play).

I am not sure what is going on. I rolled the fork tubes on a steel plate to check for a run out and there is no run out that I can see. The fork oil is forcing its way out past the seal with the bike just sitting there and leaving and oil patch on the ground. I have not ridden the bike or have a front brake to push the forks up and down. This leak is happening with the bike sitting still.

What ever happens. The forks have to come apart again.
