Hello Guys,

I just got a tank just like one of those and I am kind of lost because I own a Brazilian version of the 1VJ (called 2TY) and the tank (43F with the inscription Yamaha XT Desert) does not fit because of the huge air filter under the tank. :wtf:

Can anyone help me or indicate how I should install this tank on a 1VJ? I just got the tank (never used) and I don't have any parts that could help me installing it on the bike. :pleasesir:

I paid BRL 250,00 (something like USD 75. :mike:

The tank is designed to fit a 43F with the air box under the seat. ACERBIS did make a tank suited to the 1VJ.

See HERE Geoff paid top dollar for that tank. :mike:

Thanks Mezo, do you think I can adapt the tank in the 1VJ?
Do you know where I can find mounting instructions?
I was thinking that, maybe, I could try to use another type of air filter... don't know if I can do that... :banghead:

Seemed most likely thread to ask the question:

1985 34L. 28L tank.

What is the normal reserve level? ie how many liters left when you need to switch to reserve?
What is a realistic number of liters a person can fit in one of these lovely tanks? (normal fill amount)
