the alp had been dropped on the left side at some stage and bent the radiator





ran it for about half hour until the thermo fan cut in, no leaks so i'll leave it as is for now

i've been looking for a diy carbon fibre kit to repair the fairings and headlight surround. i wanted to strengthen them and do it once nice and strong, i was telling Mez about these kits thought i'll share

finally got the alp home


the side panels are in good nick, tool awhile to find a good right side panel, got lucky it's even the right color

these have been bodged up with fiberglass

photos don't do justice to the absolutely fucked up job done here,
might be worth looking for some good one's on ebay
the rack has been "modified"

got the air tools out made short work of it

took this lot down to the get sand blasted, won't be done for 6 days

this was going to be a quick build to get it on the road asap, the motor and wiring harness are staying in the frame, but i just keep pulling bits off so i can get in that spot there and clean or sand it, the swing arm is in danger of being removed to be sand blasted
so this is where i finished today

Scope creep strikes again. It looks like that bike deserves some decent treatment though.

it's been snowing in Queensland!!!


taped up everything and hit it with the sand blaster did the frame/swingarm and motor was careful not to blast near any seals

and while blasting around the welds to check for cracks ect i found 2 both on the same bracket


so out with the welder............... after a clean up

so after taking an advanced origami class i managed to cover up all the stuff i don't want silver

i bought silver paint that is a rust inhibitor/enamel dosn't require primer, damn it's a bright silver

supposed to be the color of the lid

so when it dried i sanded it back and hit it with undercoat, need to find a less bright silver

by this time it was cooling down so the little pot belly got fired up to keep the bike all nice and warm while it dried
