Haven't dropped any thing down the inlet that might hold a valve open?
Bust up an old spark plug and silicon in a piece of plastic tubing about a metre long in place of the insulator.
Screw into the plug hole and put motor at TDC compression. Blow into the hose and see if it holds pressure or where its leaking away.

although i had a slightly different set up, hasn't told me anything it's not leaking out the valves at TDC on no.1
when i sprayed the ether in, it ignites back out the inlet port, or it stops the motor turning over on the starter sort of like its hydrauliced the motor???? , it's got me fucked i rode the bloody thing
i think i'll take a video to show whats happening

Wheels
got a estimate to get stainless spokes and the wheels relaced
lacing $90 to $100 each
spokes $160 to $200 per wheel
might have to learn how to do this lacing up business myself, save some

Re: Danjets Honda Transalp
I laced my own wheels but had 'em checked by a local wheel builder (Roy Thursby, amazing bloke still racing Ducati's at 70 odd... google him).... anyway he charges £10 per wheel to check them on his jig.... he would have done the whole job for £20 per wheel... can't remember how much I paid for the spokes.... will look for the bill..
