Pilot jets

Post by Triumph yam660 »

Hi,just joined the forum,so hi to everybody,1st question has anyone tried or know if a pilot jet from a mikuni carb will fit in the teikia carb, they sure look the same, difference being is the price £25 from fowler's delivered mikuni jets about £5 my bike isn't standard no plastics like a flat tracker was running with pod (sponge air filters)now a bit sick but ime working on her, just received a new battery,so that's the 1st move, having said that I've had the carbs several times ( now piss easy) will keep you informed of the progress.

Bloody hell, £25 seems a bit steep for a jet. I’ve seen longer jets which will fit, and the hole size is the important thing eh? I’m pretty sure most of the threads will be compatible. have you tried comparing parts/ models with the yammy dealer? You could always ream out the one you have if you have to.
I tend not to piss about with aftermarket parts for engine and carbs. And once it’s in and right, it’s in forever. What’s wrong with the old one or are you just stepping up a size for big exhaust and filter?

Wow, yes it’s £25 😳.
What size main jets are you going for? 155, 160?
Or just upping the secondary carb jet?

Well l put in the standard pilot jet,but since then the bike won't start, new battery same problem, tries to turn over and that's that,so attempting to change starter motor, bloody hell there's nothing easy to do on these bikes, just to get to the motor carbs off again, exhaust off now there's some pipe in the way, once l get it off Ile check it out, don't really know what ime looking for but you have to try.
