Choke Plunger Recommendations

Hello folks!
I'm working my way through my 88' 3aj and have just finished cleaning my carbs.
However i have decided to try and source a new choke plunger set up (Nothing to do with me snapping a worn choke cable), preferably that attaches straight to the carb.

With some research and trawling of forums, I've noted the 2KF-14371-01, as what I'm after!
Has anyone else done so with a 3aj on YDIS carbs and furthermore know where to find one for under £100

If you’re replacing the choke “piston” make sure it’s the same type, so rubber end or the “finger”
When I replaced the piston, it was £60. 🫨
But changed the bike instantly for the better. Wrong one fitted as per aftermarket recommendations and it would stall with a jolt or sharp brake.
Looking on fowlersparts, the 88 xt600 had a finger type, the 86 has the “coke can” shape piston with no finger. So see which suits yours.

Been there with my 1VJ and indeed the price for this knob is outright criminal. Since I had issues with the carb as well I decided to buy a 2KF carb which had the knob attached and left me a spare carb in case something breaks down.

As for operating the choke, the knob attached to the carbie is indeed much more convenient!

I had a similar issue with choke cables and knob on both my 1vjs and 3aj. If you dont mind going cheap you can get an excellent replacement from Alliexpress. Just search for "motorcycle choke cable"" there are a few different lengths. Around AUD$3 to $5 !!
Worked well for me.

Aye gang thanks for the advice! I've held onto the old choke parts and replaced the broken cable with a Yam Bits replacement. Will let you know how it goes and will try and keep an eye out for a cheaper carb attached option!

I've been muddling my way through with some basic carb knowledge, but have struggled to find any solid diagrams which label the piping / inlets or outlets. Don't suppose anyone has found any / can guide me through what pipes attach to where? Want to make sure ive done it correctly!

L/h side of left carb is fuel inlet to bowl. The two pipes facing rearwards at the back of the carbs are left open down to the floor avaoiding the chain etc. Top of left carb joined to front top of right carb for the enricher device. Don’t forget the clips on the pipe underneath from the left bowl to supply the r/h carb.
Check cmsnl or fowlersparts for exploded diagrams.

The only one I'm unsure of now is this central pipe, attached to the primary carb (see photo).
What is it and where should it go

That’s one of the free tubes to route down and away to air. It vents the top of the fuel bowl. The one on the left is also in the bowl, but lower, and would act as overflow.
