Still working on the photobucket, picture upload thing. Tank is finished- applying the stickers took hours and was the hardest job so far. Found a decompression cable at www.cmsnl.com for 30 dollars but another 30 for postage so I'll keep looking locally.Front guard is in the mail from Yuniworld, England, throttle cables from Germany, graphics were from Italy , England is supplying a fuel tap repair kit and I can't find side covers or bash plates anywhere. I want an oil cooler cover too which is ironic because I took the one off my first XT after being told they run more efficiently without them.Vlad is depressing- Mine could never come that good and I thought I was doing so well. My son has an immaculate (well it was until I got at it) 1994 DT 175. He is at the mines. When he comes home he will find all his pretty mirrors, blinkers, silver handlebars and switches now look like they've had 30 years of hard use- and the ones on the Tenere look new-LOL. Shame the headlight cowling is slightly different- but maybe???
As for the Byron boys- well I was living in Lennox Head and was always jealous of these brothers on their trick Ducatis. Then when the Tenere came out they traded their Dukes on them, took the baffles out and no one could stay with them on the Burringbar Range.Trail bikes , until then had been severely frowned upon by my riding fraternity. That attitude was changed by the Byron Bay Tenere riders. I had a Moto Guzzi S3 that was a beautiful s@#%, box and Bob Falls Motorcycles had what was probably the last new 83 model in Australia. It was June 1984 and it was in the window like a dog of the week at the animal shelter, having been on the showroom floor for six months and was reduced by $1000. It took about 30 seconds to decide to buy it then and there. It put the Guzzi to shame through the corners- and everywhere else too.The best bike I ever owned.
In love again.

Jon in Brisbane will be supplying a whole kit in a few weeks, oil cooler cover, side panels, tail section & headlight surround.
Bash plates are hard to find, try ebay.com (USA) or Europe.

Re: In love again.
There are usually bash plate for sale on Ebay over here. Often close to the cost of a new aftermarket one, but not always. I believe there is one from an '89 right now if they are the same as on a Tenere.
Yep found it. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Yamaha-XT600-XT ... 19e2695644
