Yes. It is actually an XT kicker, not a TT. TT's are forged alloy.

if there is meant to be a gasket or do i just silicon it again???

No Gasket!! This is to preserve cam bearing clearances. Use a sealer. I prefer Locktite anerobic type gasket maker.

hopefully we do a better job than the previous owner sealing up the rocker cover and i'll have a crack at the kicker
