Hi

Seems like the TCI unit that I have is the correct one for the bike.

This is the website where i found it, don't know if anybody have tried their products before?

I can just make out CD4607D on your TCI so that seems the right one, is the wiring loom still TT or do you have one from a 600E (3TB) ?

And i think you would need to replace the reg/rec as well? you can pick up used looms in Germany fairly easy, XT600E Kabelbaum

Thanks Mezo

Think I'll give wiring the bike myself a go. If any smoke comes out I'll revert to giving the Germans a go.

Might take a while to reach the Southern tip of Africa.

Any advice on where to mount the battery. I think the current holder is too small to handle the larger battery for the newer engine?

If you buy an AGM (absorbent glass matt) battery you can safely lay them on there side, people have done this & mounted them under the seat.

Motobatt are fairly cheap, check the dimensions of there battery’s & the space you have, go for biggest ampage for the e-start.

There could be guys on this forum who have done this already (swapped motors) i forget now?

Wired everything up today to see if we could get a spark and it worked....

Had some help from a good friend.

See if can have it running by the weekend... Hopefully we'll hear some thumping noises.
