It's possible that the petcock filters have detached inside the tank and that's what is rattling around. Measure the distance across the two bolts that thread into the tank and post it here. It's possible that the petcock is a part that was used on future bikes with slight modifications.mhouck wrote:Bike needs some work ----
Started at the tank and drained it. There is something rattling around in there, but cannot get it out when tipped upside down. The baffle seems to have come unfixed from bottom of tank, but the sound is something else....
I will have a go tonight after work and take a close look with a flashlight to see if I can see what it is --- in the meantime, any ideas??
Also petcock continues to let fuel out when in off position....
Will clean and or rebuild if needed.
As this is going to be a rebuild, any ideas on replacement petcock as part seems to be obsolete....
