This weekend I'll try and get the forks rebuilt and work on the loom and various electrics.

What are you doing or using for the header pipe Dan? same coating? new pipes or the old OEM?

It's a dilemma.
I would really like a CRD, GPR or highest on the list a Devil.
I'd even settle for a Motad.
It'll get ceramic coated when I source one to keep the integrity.
I've got a reasonable OEM but I'm trying to keep the bar high

I bought the Devil & was very impressed, i was going to get it ceramic coated as well but the guy who was going to do it was ignoring calls & emails so it never got done, i wanted it done from brand new so it coated the inside nicely (no soot).

Got some stuff done this week and a very nice parcel....



Vapour blasted the bottom yoke, and had new bearings in stock. Fitted using the freeze one part heat the other school of bearing engineering



same for the top yoke.



YZ 250 caliper vapour blasted, really great way of cleaning the seal channels.



All new genuine parts, it pays to be diligent especially with the front brake

And last but not least a new Wilbers rear shock

Need some help from the forum.
I need to source a front light for the YZ forks and yokes fitted.
I really can't decide. I'll be using Barkbusters with the LED indicators.
Here we go.
I like this Acerbis one, but it's not road legal as I can't see any mention of dip.


I like the retro style, I was lightly concerned that the USD forks would be too wide for the lamp to sit properly, but I have seen an old CanAM with USD forks fitted with this Acerbis Elba.


UFO version of the Elba but I need to check how wide it is.


When I look at the run of the mill stuff I think it will be too angular in relation to the old school look of the bike especially the big round tank.


I like the Dual and Baja Designs stuff but they are eye wateringly expensive £500+



Any other suggestions, even off the wall ones are greatly received.

No way you can mount the 1VJ sub frame?

I really like the Acerbis Elba, but maybe you can put in another light? A small LED light perhaps.

And I think you will find any LED light fitted to a vehicle not specifically designed to use said light will be an MOT failure, even if DOT approved etc.

In my search for LED lighting it keeps coming up that you have to change the generator output to suit LED, anyone know anything about that?
