I shorted the sidestand switch and the problem with bike dying when putting in 1st gear dissapeared.
Also turned the idle screw out to 3.5 turns and it helped the cold starting as well, still happining though.

Had some time during the weekend so managed to sort out the pannier/bag rack. I made the connection point already last year, but lost the motivation as the engine failed. I had the measurements taken at a local pipe bending workshop and friday I went there with the bike to do the bending. One rack ended a bit off so I had to cut and reweld one bit, otherwise they came out pretty great. Littlebit oversized for my current saddlebag, but great if I want to use other type of bags in the future. It's still a work in progress as I want to add a connection point to passenger footpeg rack and paint them.

I would recommend having a connecting tube between the two carriers in the back, under the number plate.
This improves stability a lot and takes strain off the other points.

3 months since the last post..

I took Motorangs advice and upgraded the carrier a bit, adding the connection tube to the back. Also another connection point to the passenger footpeg mount via a hose clamp. All together it seems really nice and sturdy now, it should be perfect to fit the Kriega OS bags.
