so i done a bit of a test fit to see how the africa twin (AT) tank and seat fit and see if any mods are required





all fits there will be a mod to the radiator plastic covers and will need a fuel pump as the petcocks sits lower than the carbs, what sort of 12volt pump would i use any suggestions? psi flow rate ect , the stock AT pump seems to have some reliability issues (so i've read)

also made a clean area for bike reasembly, still a work in progress

ok small update last wednesday night i started striping the bike down



table getting full of bits and pieces, got stuck back into it tonight



getting right down to the bare bones now, things i found while dismantling head stock bearings are shot and all the swingarm bolts
are very hard to remove
the swingarm pivot/engine bolt is VERY tight, i can just turn it with the LARGE breaker bar



hope i don't have to cut the bolt

I can hardly see any rust on the frame...
Funny the bolts are rotten.

well this is the "first" transalp soon to be a africa twin replica, it had been sandblasted (at home) and spray painted, i had to strip it back down only this time the motor is coming out, and the frame will be powdercoated
and a few other bits and pieces are on the way

so i stripped the radiators and the wiring harness out



just 3 more bolts and the motors out, but..... the swingarm bolt is being very stubborn, i may have to cut the bolt

dismantled and cleaned the thermostat housing, was a lot of crap in there, gave the thermostat the boiling water test, works ok, so gave the housing a polish






all clean inside and out

some parts arrived today

nice and tidy





just stickers........... or has it been tweaked by a suspension guru
