Rather than concentrating your attention to the fork leg and/or seal, have a good look at the area where the OUTSIDE of the oil seal rests.
A previous owner may have scored the alloy outer when trying to remove an old oil seal.

Also check that you used the correct seal, the Tenere forks are different to the standard XT600. Tenere have Showa forks, the XT600 Kayaba.

I went for a ride on the Guzzi to have a look and see if there is any progress on the Tenere. Nope is the short answer. A least the Tenere is not lonely

Im guessing that`s Andy`s workshop? id love to spend time in there building bikes.

There is a small group of blokes around here, who restore old bikes and there work is stunning to put it mildly. I have a high bench mark to reach up to with these guys.

The garage is Johns. The new home for the Tenere as there no room in Andy gadget garage. I was poking around one of John's Mk 1's, he has muttering of selling
