Anyway, no point in thrashing the bitch on a long tarmac straight, they're boring however you take them.
Twisty, bumpy bits now that's a different story

Phil, the 16t front knocks 70mph down to about 4700rpm, 60 is about 4000rpm.

I should point out that my 5th is making a noise, my own fault for riding below 3000rpm, carb mods have smoothed out the engine, obviously not enough

Remember to change down & keep revs up when you accelerate & you should be ok

Well doing some stuff to it again after, giving it some greif lately. So its back to stripping it down...... but the one thing Ive struggled with today is after snapping a mirror the thread on the base turns one way to tight then loosens and tightens going the other way also, before I go making a right hash of gorilla'ing it and snapping the mounting and having a really big bill, which way is the friggin thread !!!!

Loosen the lock nut then wind out the mirror stem.

Not done mine for a while but I think Yamaha use a left hand thread on 1 side & right hand thread (normal) on the other, can't remember which is which.

Left hand mirror (sitting on bike) = RH thread
Right hand mirror = LH thread

Yamaha have been doing it this way forever.

Im guessing its for when you drop the bike the mirror undoes (folds backwards) rather than tightening it more & snapping the base clean off?

Seems logical to me anyhow.

Also anyone know wheres the best place to get a good gear lever from maybe one from another bike, but an off road one with a spring type tip
