Tanks now down to bare metal, best place to be as well. Surprisingly, I didn't find any nasty dents to deal with, bit of topping up to do around the rear fixing area, nothing that a bit of chemical metal won't cure.
Still got to clean up the underside. I'm going to have the tank support sections off and fit some new captive bolts behind there, I seem to remember that 2 of the threads are stripped.

Ok, now the underside is done as well. :hot: Doesn't appear to have any pin holes anywhere :sherlock: although there is obviously some pitting here and there. But good enough for a 26 year old metal bike tank.
Wash down with some thinners and a tack rag and into primer me thinks....................

Looks nice!

I'm also going to paint my bike, do you have any tips/tricks for me?

A decent finish is all in the prep. Take your time, pay attention to the little details, like the curves and corners. I use 2pac paint but you will need an air fed mask because it is poisonous in the long term.
Wet and dry between each coat, wipe over with a tack rag, don't put the paint on too thick, several coats.
