Got the linkages back together with the plated bolts and plenty of grease. The nipples will be added after build as its too easy to damage them during build, don't ask how I know.



Replated the seat latch action and the rear plate


Seat stays and the plates from the petcocks:


Swing arm cups, you can gently prise out the inner seal before send to re-plating for the best finish.

Got the large washers back that keep the clocks in the holder. They'd managed to lose three of the four R clips during plating, so I went stainless on the R clips.
Clocks are now reunited with the front end, which feels like we're making progress.
Painted the master cylinder and rebuilt that, again back mounted on handle bar where it belongs. I'll rig up a disc so the caliper can be bled before fitting the front end.
The major progress is that with the help of a good friend and his air powered die grinder we removed the lower steering head bearing cup which had corroded itself into the frame. I'll try and get the frame to the powder coater in the near future.
Went through my Yamaha spares to find all the chassis parts and got them together, so that when the frame arrives back I can make rapid progress
Ordered some RAM mounts which screw into the mirror mounts. You can mount mirrors on them or use as auxiliaries for mounting phones etc.

BTW before anyone thinks I've spilt blood, the red marks on the towel are red rubber grease

Firstly an apology for the lack of posts, two months is too long.
It's our busy time at work, not really an excuse.
Got my wheels back from Doug, finished to his usually high standard.

I go up a spoke size on the rear normally but this time the spoke supplier made a mistake on the front spokes and sent them the next size up.
So front and rear are one size up this time, it requires the hubs re-drilling so it's quite involved.

Frame refinish.
Normally I would just get the frame powder coated without worrying too much about the frame number but I'm hearing that more and more MOT stations are refusing to MOT bikes without clear numbers. I was also concerned about the blue colour but it's absolutely perfect match.




It's also been clear coated which I don't normally do but its needed when you do the frame number like that. So these photos show the prep needed just to make sure all the threads are clean and the bottom engine cradle still fits.

Need to get the Wilbers shock ordered this week, I'll go adjustable this time, my brother struggles to get his feet on the floor with the standard height

There's some more photos to come, the oil tank was in nice original condition but when I mounted it on the newly finished frame it looked awful. So I got that powdered black. It needs picking up from powder coaters.
