Ups! 4 month later....
I have a big problem!
Today I disassembled the engine of the Tenere.
There was no real need.

The engine started ok , idled , had enough power ....
But I was set for a spare engine.
I have got everything to build a nice engine with some nice modifikations :
refreshed 2kf head
3AJ Barrel plus new piston
TT 600 S stainless header ...

I wanted to look into the existing engine before I start the new one.
You ´ll never know what to find....

Well, I found out that the bloody engine is in very good state!!!!
But still.... is has done 52000 Km´s.
Look at this ! It is the old crank, not the new one:

There is freeplay in the crankbearing (down in the case) but as we all know these are C3 bearings anyway.
The rod is as tight as the rod on the new crank.

The gearbox shifted allways nice, I even had a very limited look into the gearbox via the balancershaft.... all good/very nice!
The clutch never made any trouble... and so on.
What to do, Polly Maggoo?
My question is:
Shall I put the new barrel plus new head on the old engine and be happy for the next 50000?
Has anybody done that? And has good expierence with that?
Or shall I tear everything appart and built a new engine?
