With yet more good weather and time on my hands for a change, i managed to do spray my pearl undercoat on the first coat of white. I forgot to take a pic of the pearl coat...
sorry! It has a silver-ish look to it, and i was worried that it would look crap with the white over it. I have never sprayed a bike like i am doing now. I have always done a rough patch job or used a spray can with dodgy results. But seeing the results of some of the bikes done in here, i have decided to do it properly.
I am sure that a pro would be able to do it much better than i can, but my budget doesnt allow for that sort of thing.
So out comes the spraygun and compressor and away i go. I hung the bits on the frame once they were touch dry just to keep them out of the way. I bumped a side panel off the bench and had to respray it
I know the balloon looks odd, but it does the trick. Just blow up the balloon inside the tank neck till it comes out the top a bit and tie it off. Seals the tank perfectly
Just remember to take it out once the paint is touch dry. I left the first one in the neck and came out to have a look a few hours later and it had fallen into the tank
Luckily it hadnt fallen all the way in.
Once i had done the white I was trying to get an idea of what she is going to look like with a bit of body art... so i got out my box of stickers, and....
and...
half an hour later, they were on
