yep you can get them off with the cheapy puller i got the 1 off my 3aj engine still working on the army bike flywheel

Hey Dan, here is an idea to help with the flywheel removal and inflict minimal damage.

Tighten the puller up nice and tight and then pour a kettle of boiling water over the flywheel boss. That should move it without hurting anything.

That`s a good idea, never would have thought of boiling water.

Im guessing as its an ex army bike & not having daily or even monthly use that`s why its stuck so tight.

much too late for the whole being gentle with the hot water, or the cuppa, while i was heating the flywheel the heat has damaged the inner stainless steel layer that covers the magnets it sort of stood up and creased
so when i realized it's stuffed i took to it with the 32 ounce/900gram hammer
the result flywheel off

and i stripped the thread on 2 cheapy pullers both on this motor
anyway i cut the end off the "better" one and ground the end to a point so i could have another go



and then i shut the shed and got stuck into some

i needed a diversion from the stuffed flywheel drama's so i bought myself a new toy
this should come in handy with future projects
