So I went to Kent today to pick up my SRX/XT bottom end and head.... round trip of 580 miles.... Trouble is the engine is a 34L type, kickstart only.... its no good for Tenere 2, but I'll keep it for my 55W it cost me 280 quid, which is a bit chaeaper than rebuilding one.... :evil: It looks gorgeous, shiny carillo rod, shiny crankshaft.... new gearbox.... & the head is in equally good nick, will post pics tommorrow. I was very tempted while I was there, the bloke has another 34L engine, with magnesium sidecases... built by (he says) Dave Lambeth a few years ago, he's got loads of spares for XT's lots of 'em still in the Yamaha bags & a genuine Belgarda TT600 rolling chassis, upside down forks fitted..... he'd have taken 600 quid for the lot.....
Anyway I got home, checked on ebay & found a bloke selling a 3AJ engine for £125 & he's in Doncaster I just drove right past him....... :banghead:
I've given him a deposit he's gonna fetch it to our local bike autojumble in 2 weeks for me....
The future is not what it used to be....

This is my 'hot' engine that I've bought, unfortunately no good for Tenere 2 but I'll keep it for later ..... you guys doing up 34L's would love this....

where did you got these?
I want a set of S/S 4 mm spokes but I was quoted €78.- for a set of one wheel, with €15.- extra for blue spoke nipples..
so that would be a about €191.- ex shipping (+€10.-)

wheels look nice.. mines going to be matt black rimm with blue hubb...

Yeah sorry mate, a days worth i think? it was restored back to Thursdays backup so anything written Friday went to cyber heaven before the crash late on Friday night (Aussie time). Im now doing a daily backup rather than every other day, it cant even be scheduled i have to do it manually before going to bed.

Update..... just telephoned the guy who's painting my front mudguard...... no reply

Phoned the exhaust bloke (who just happens to have my headers & my mid pipe).... no reply

Phoned Mr Lambeth ..... no reply

Oh & the fork boots..... post office say the sender has to claim, so I've messaged him...... :popcorn2:
