Oh and I should say I can't believe how comfortable the 1VJ is in relation to my 34L.
The 34L is much more raw, like an old fashioned dirt bike on the road feel. Whereas the 1VJ feels more planted and comfortable.
Both bikes have exactly the same Wilbers rear suspension and uprated Wilbers springs in the forks. The 34L runs Continental TKC80s and the 1VJ runs Michelin Anakee Wilds

regarding your oil leak...have you had the crankcase cover off lately? there is a cap screw that is very easly forgotten about during reassembly that can cause a leak similar to what you describe. is behind the small cover as pictured. If it is missing will cause oil to leak over top of engine and will make it seem like clutch actuator seal is leaking!
