rear tyre fit?

Now that I've probably offended any Saab fans that I may be asking for help ;^)

I'm guessing that a Pirelli Sport Demon 140/70-18 rear would fit fine in the arse end of an 1VJ, wouldn't it?

A set of road tyres that'd fit the XTZ rims have popped on the forum that shall not be named, and as I'm looking to convert mind to more of a road tourer, if I can get them I'm goin' to have a go ( be a damn sight cheaper than buying new tyres, and I'm still rather skint)

Anyway, if anyone could confirm or refute that it'd fit, it would be appreciated.

Ta,

Neale

I fitted Pirelli Scorpions on mine..... (cos I got the back one thrown in free with my 55W) I'll check on the size tonight for ya.... I'm probably gonna use 'em on Ten 4 too, they look great... back one is a lot wider than usual but it fits...

edited to say, you haven't offended me about SAAB's... I fucking hate 'em, ever since I was a young mechanic working on the things, especially the one's with the Ford V4's in them..... pile of fucking shite.....

Yeah, I'll second that. ( x 10)
Ever worked on the auto version with the BW transverse 35 transmission?
You have to remove the front suspension and the engine and the top of the transmission doubles as the sump of the engine! WTF!!

Don't mention the oil pipes inside the trans.......plumbers nightmare and twenty ways to get it wrong.

Next worst car.....60's Mini/1100 with automatic trans running on stinking engine oil. Run Forrest, run!!

BTW that tyre seems to have about 1.0 mm clearance from the front of the swingarm. :shades:

Thanks Geoff, but I think Dan's right about how much room you have at the front ;^)

Any chance you have tried some in snow/ice? That's one of the tires I'm looking at for running in the winter
Dunlop TR radials are my first choice so far but 150/80r-17's ???

Cool, thanks Geoff, now I've just gotta hope someone local doesn't pick them up to put aside, so I can get them ;^)
