Has anyone had anything to do with YSS suspension for the xt, they are serviceable rear shock, they build them to your weight and what you plan to use for,

Looking at the web site they look good, I'm only looking at the standard shock, the price is £280 that much cheaper than the well known brands.

Or would you rebuild the standard one that on the bike, I plan to do fifteen thousand miles most off road next year

Thanks

Better quality shocks usually pay for themselves. With the amount of miles your planning , besides the seat , the shock will be the single biggest part for your riding comfort and ultimately , enjoyment of the trip, IMHO.

I've been in a twist about what to use with regards to upgrading the rear shock, I've been thinking how I like the tenere 600 for what it is, I've decided to keep the original I've stripped and painted the shock the spring has gone to get powder coated, at the same time I'm going to reuse the fork springs as they are in good order, I'm going to rebuild a second shock just in case this fails as I travel across Russia then the wife can send it on if needed, also looking at having a second engine as a spare to send on too, other than that I can manage everything else.
