It is a bit complicated and we would have to know what you want to do with the bike. This is the original European setup with electric start and sidestand safety switch. The CDI is mounted behind the battery box, under the seat, on the mudguard, from the factory.
Basically:
- Blue serves all the electric start related stuff. All the switches and relais to make sure you do not start with gear engaged, except the clutch is disengaged.
- Blue-Yellow has to connect to ground for the engine to run. It is connected to the circuit of the Blue wire, to the sidestand switch and the kill switch.
The simplest way would be this:
- Disconnect Blue from the CDI and use your brain for electric start safety.
- Connect Blue to the kill switch blue/white wire to have the kill start functionality. Or connect Blue directly to ground to check if you get a spark (which will override the kill switch)
So this is the simplified version for test or simplified offroad use (I got rid of the electric starter a long time ago):
If you need to have the sidestand switch for roadworthyness, wire it in serial, right where the new violet connection is in the plan.
As for the Pick-Up wires it is relevant to wire them with correct order and polarity.
Same with the red and brown wire for condenser charging coil. Some aftermarket stators have brown and red switched, and you have to connect them the other way round for the CDI to work.
Yes, the third wire is common ground for both pickup coils. The Pick-Up has two internal coils, one for low rpm advance and one for high rpm advance.

I run a 3AJ engine in my 1VJ, but used the matching 3AJ CDI.
The wires are all the same except for the pickup-wires: One CDI has round connectors in a three-bay housing, the other one has spade connectors in a three-bay housing
And the colors are different ...
The plain green colored is the Pick-Up ground wire.
I will come back later with electric diagrams of 1VJ and 3AJ
Could you sort out which cables actually come from the STATOR? The black/yellow one does not ...
