Rebuilt my 1VJ carb’s

Hello all! It has been a while since I was here. Basically, I’ve been working away from home this year and haven’t had any time for my Tenere after taking delivery.

Rebuilding a set of carb’s wouldn’t be the biggest challenge for most members on here but for a novice like me some things are.
I removed these carb’s off my 1VJ 4 months ago, and at the time, stripped them, had them ultrasonic cleaned, and ordered a number of new OEM parts for the rebuild.

I have now rebuilt the carb’s, and tomorrow I will attach the remaining hoses that I’m able to do on the bench. Hopefully before New Year’s I will have everything else reconnect back up.

With a little luck, she starts after a few kicks.

I could only spare an hour working on the 1VJ, not enough time for me to reinstall the carb’s. I removed and replaced the hardened hoses from the fuel pump.
Question.
At the base of the fuel pump I noticed a small retaining bracket, but I’m not sure what it for.

Also, what looks like another retaining bracket on the frame, again I’m not sure what this one is for?

If someone could kindly advise me it would be great.

On my bike that bracket secures a battery drain pipe, which is redundant as I have a gel battery but I've left it there anyway. You can just about see it tucked in to the right of the tool box.

Ah, battery drain rings a bell, yes.
