So l have a 1VJ with Australian 2002 XT600 motor and wiring harness and switch gear
I have plugged everything together put the battery in and have some type of gremlin....
when l turn the ignition on, the rhs front indicator comes on and stays on, when l hit the rhs indicator switch the rear rhs comes on and then they both stay on. l have double checked all connections, everything else works [including the lhs indicators]. I'm stumped anyone got any ideas????

It sounds like the right front indicator light isn’t sharing the same 12v wire with the right rear indicator or else both would be on when you turn on the ignition.

It also sounds like the right rear indicator is shorting the relay since it is activated by the handlebar switch but doesn’t flash. Do you have a spare relay to use? You could also try swapping the left indicator wires over to the right and see if that has an effect.

One more thing: open up the handlebar switch and spray in some electrical contact cleaner. The handlebar switches can corrode from years of sitting in the elements and cause funky problems. You could also try jumping the wires at the connector and bypass the handlebar switch to further isolate the issue.

Did you swap the ignition switch over as well Nick?

Yeah Mezo swapped the lot over, Scottieh has given me food for thought, will get on to that today, yes have tried a different flasher unit with the same result, cheers
