Grease guns

Thought I’d mention a vast improvement on grease guns. Broke more nipples on the suspension linkages using another brand new laser bag of shite. They don’t come off, with any method. Ended up with a quick release adapter from machine mart. Little locking lever. Bliss.
Also bought a hika grease gun from screw fix. Came with extra flex. Two nicely adjustable adapters.

I got one for 5 pounds from euro car parts but just has the screw on end to tighten it down but its greased my linkage so happy days.

Yes the ability to get the bugger off easily is great. The satisfaction of a lubricated swingarm.

My missus thinks I should get out more.

I am just in the process of aquiring a grease gun to grease up the Swingarm, good thing to keep in mind!

I found that my Tenere original grease nipples were weird shaped and most of the grease leaked from the nipples when we tried to grease it last year. This year after painting the swingarm I changed the nipples but have not yet aquired the gun..

BTW, how much freeplay do you have on your swingarm? I haven't greased mine yet, and am getting amout 7mm up-down movement from the furthest point of the swingarm.

There will be loads felt before greasing. Load it up. With some good heavy grease. The mot guy will probably bump his gums a bit. There’s play in them from new.

So I finally put a new grease nipple in on the left swing arm, didn’t want to strip the bike too much yet so had to make monkey and peanut jar sort of hands to get the old broken one out with a torx bit in a ratchet spanner mm by mm , then same almost impossible dexterity to screw the new one in. It’s what small Victorian children are supposed to do. I was changing the output shaft seal at the same time so had a little more room past the chain. Hopefully mot it next week.
