As above, does the tensioner of the later 90's bikes fit the earlier 80's ones?

Specifically, using the 3TB-12210-00 (available new) tensioner instead of the 34K-12210-00 (not available)

Part number and Fowlers say they're different, but they look identical on the parts drawing.

How much are they? I can’t see them being different. Change costs money. Most of the old parts get newer part numbers as the models unfold. Can you get it on sale or return and compare them at the shop or is it a case of “ you order you pay?

Why didn't I think of that?
£100.
I'll try it out & return under distance selling rules if it doesn't fit.

While we're here, I wonder how many 350 parts transfer over to the 600? There must be a few?

They are identical other than their colour. The 34K version is painted black on the external portion of the housing. Thats all it takes for it to have a different part number.

Fairly identical and a perfect fit. All measurements are the same. Spring feels slightly stronger than the original, but that's probably the 40 year difference.

You can check with the part number. Color has its own two digit code there.

Also you can check for parts that were succeeded by newer parts.
