Hi All -

Busy slowly neatening up the XTZ I just bought and under the seat on the frame you will see in the pic the previous owner(s) have put a piece of mining hose over the frame. I don't see anything on the parts pdf that fits over the frame, but I do see a damper that sits under the seat - p/n 3TB-24723-00. Does someone perhaps have a pic of their bike to confirm what actually needs to go there?

The hose is definitely going, but not sure if I need to put some rubbers on the frame where it was, or just put some thick foam under the seat in place of the damper - I'm not going to order that from Yamaha - it's an expensive piece of rubber!

So it looks like that piece of the frame is exposed to flying rocks and sand from the back wheel and the previous owner fitted the piece of hose just to protect it. When I removed it I found a lot of paint missing and quite a bit of rust. Wire brush removed the rust and a new coat of paint covered the bare metal. Now just to find a decent piece of plastic or rubber to put back in place of the hose!

To protect a hidden part of the frame maybe Raptor Paint or spread on a construction sealant / adhesive such as CT1 which cures to a cross between plastic and rubber.
