sorry should have made it more clear, who rebuilt your wheels as at the moment I have just stock wheels which look 23 years old so was thinking of going for gold rims and black hub but not sure whether to go for excel rims or have them sent away to spin-wheels.co.uk and have them refurbished in gold ...

Hi
I had problems starting my XT on the weekend after it not being used for 3 months after the engine had had a total rebuild. Put a new spark plug and some new fuel and it has been running like a dream for the last 3 days until last night on the way back from work it just cut out.

Update on my problem.
New Fuel and new Spark Plug and first kick it was going like a dream for the whole of 3 days, now I have another problem. Opening a new topic.

Eric - I believe a new Decompression cable was fitted during the rebuild, could it be possible that the cable is too tight, and if so is it easy to adjust.
Steve - my xt hasn't got a decompression lever and when I do kick it I do not hear any click but I will drain the carb ...

Thanks for getting back to me.
It does have the correct spark plug and I assume the carb has not been touched.
This weekend I am taking it to a mates who knows a bit about bikes. We are going to check the fuel filter, check the gap on the spark plug and also the charge in the battery as it may be ...
