Re: Kickstarting a 1986 XT600

Thanks for the replies.

Steve - my xt hasn't got a decompression lever and when I do kick it I do not hear any click but I will drain the carb ...

Kickstarting a 1986 XT600

Hi to all
My XT engine has recently been rebuilt after a good 6 months trying to source different things for it. A week after it was finished I managed to get a slipped disc in my neck so the bike has not been used for the last 3 months.

The problem I have now is that I can't start the bast**d ...

I have seen one for sale on evil bay in Germany but it is for a XT 2KF / 2NF (1987-1989).
I am ...

Re: Problems kickstarting my 43F XT600

Thanks for getting back to me.

It does have the correct spark plug and I assume the carb has not been touched.

This weekend I am taking it to a mates who knows a bit about bikes. We are going to check the fuel filter, check the gap on the spark plug and also the charge in the battery as it may be ...

Problems kickstarting my 43F XT600

Few weeks ago my the ignition coils on my stator burned out, eventually managed to source a good condition one from the dreaded ebay.
Last night went to pick up my bike from my local mechanics and it took a good 20 kicks to get it started, I put this down to it being a very cold day and it had been ...
