Re: Tuning front brakes

Thanks for the reply Mezo, I remember on dirt bikes we would adjust the front brake drum so they wouldn't lock up . Her brake system on the xt must of been gone through by the dealer, because they slam the brakes tight with very little pressure on the brake lever. regards mike

Re: New xt

She's fine and a trooper. She had snapped the clutch lever, so I swapped mine to her bike and she rode it to a restaurant where she got cleaned up, while I went and got the truck for her to ride home in, and I rode both bikes home. Her crash (her new nic-name is "Crash" by the way) was caused by ...

Re: New xt

Well so much for the pristine 86 xt, the good woman crashed it this weekend. :fall: She is ok, just a little road rash - same with the old lady.

Re: 31mm CR carbs

Hey Steve, going for it's first extended ride this weekend. Jetting is easily accessible, I recommend an initial dyno tune by professionals, for hassle free enjoyment. Mike

Re: 31mm CR carbs

Hey Steve, as in Mezo's picture , dual carbs using your bike's push pull cables. My Clark gas tank has a recess underside, so while tight it does not bind. Using xt carb boots, they have to be installed to the carbs first, (due to the tight fit) then installed to the motor. I had to change out two ...
