31mm CR carbs

Got 2x sets in a package of SRX600 bikes and bits I got off Trade-me ( a NZ local "flea-bay" site) My question is has anyone played with them before. Ok so they are jetted for a SRX600, and even then I suspect the set fitted to a "standard" 600 motor aren't set up great so I are not going to throw the standard carbs away yet?

The brand new set was relisted immediately to re-coup some of the outlay for 2 1/2 bikes worth of "stuff" ($3500)
I reassembled 2x standard carbs for refitting to the 2 running SRX600's so I can sell one, and get the son on the road with the other. So now I'm sitting on this set of carbs.... Looking at the 3AJ.... (runs fine as it is :oilleak: )

Bottom line! are the CR's going to give me more reliability? better performance? easier tuning?

Keep an eye out on tall-mikes posts Pete as he`s just fitted a set the other week, it was my plan to eventually fit a set to my old 3AJ.

Say Hey Pete, I've had the cr 31 carbs installed and dyno'd with outstanding results. With one glitch on first road test...a stuck float needle. I gave it back to the mechanic and should have it back soon. At that time I will request all jet sizes and post them here along with a gopro footage for your entertainment. Regards Mike

I must have missed something, is the CR31 setup a single carb or dual carb? If dual are both full time. Details on hook up, boots, throttle cables etc?

Hey Steve, as in Mezo's picture , dual carbs using your bike's push pull cables. My Clark gas tank has a recess underside, so while tight it does not bind. Using xt carb boots, they have to be installed to the carbs first, (due to the tight fit) then installed to the motor. I had to change out two of the allen bolts to hex head bolts inorder to put a wrench on them and tighten up the boots to the motor. In the picture of the carbs you see the velocity stacks, for an added cost I purchased the stainless mesh caps with an additional micro fiber bag that goes over these velocity stacks and is supposed to repel water. WOW! those look awesome. What is your overall feelings about them, way better?, Little better?, easier starting?, all of the above.

What about sourcing them? Where?

I did locate some, but 459 US dollars is quite a bit.....

hey Steve, The difference is huge and yes the cost is high. And probably next year with my tax refund I'll beef up the top end . :nordie: The carbs are from Sudco, the U.S. distributer I used was www.pjmotorsports.com regards mike
