If i had the tools & workshop i could knock up that in less than a day, we made stuff like that in metalwork at school.

 Hey Nop I think you will find that that price/costing is for the qoute from setting up (jig etc) and anyway, that Andy (on the HU forum) is looking to get a better price elsewhere.
"We shall require the bike for about 7 - 10 working days." :omg:

Mezo is right, in so much that the ease of building such a rack is schoolboy stuff, but then the investment of production and all that entails would bring the price up and over, to say, if you went and knocked one up one's self.

Me thinks that anyone here with the right tooling should look at making one (and costing) also look at building the different rear racks for the xt models, as there does appear to be a demand for these, albeit specialized to the xt's.

Over the years, lots of out the back shed fetteling has turned out to be a buisness/income. Anyone?

Brage,
I recommend you check out the link that Mezo has placed in the first posting here, if you have been thinkin of purchasing from that paticular dealer (RC). I might add this is not an opinion of mine. none-the-less, advice from the original poster (via link above) may well be worth taking note of!

I've got one or two if any one wants one, let me know the colour, that might be possible too, I've also put two mounts at the front to take two spots lights, soon as i get them back from powder coaters I'll post some pictures, I'll offer them here before they go to ebay
