Can you notice the improvement in power or stability?
Do you still use the 2 pickups for input?
Where are you in France? A good pal of mine from Australia is staying in Limoux for the next 8 weeks.
thank you for your comments. I'm in Paris where I use a different bike. My ténéré is in Poland and this is where I do the tests.
I use only one pickup, the 35°. The 12° pickup is not connected.
I did some testing this weekend, I did about 80 km with my CDI.
There are some issues that I will have to debug and optimize the software in the following weeks. One of the issue is CDI performance at high rpm (issue starting at around 4500 rpm, depending on the map used). Actually, there is a very short time between the signal from the pickup and the moment the spark should be fired. This time is so short that the calculations the microprocessor does are longer that they should be and as the result the spark is delayed more than it should be.
So, for the moment, the goal is to optimize the CDI performance and try to make it work as the stock CDI does. Once this goal achieved, I will be playing with different maps.
Below are the maps that I designed but as I said, the CDI performance should be improved first. I tried each one, could see some differences in engine's work but it is too early to go with definite conclusions.
cheers,
Pawel
