1vj ported head
Back in the summer i bought a head,rokker cover and barrel off ebay, after looking at it i would say that someone has ground out the inlet and exhaust ports, is it likely the carbs will need re jetting? if so where do i start on jets?

A ported head should still be OK with the original setup, if nothing else has been changed. I would check if it is still the original camshaft, piston, bore etc
It would just ALLOW for more airflow, but does not require it.
