Hi all, I am doing a rebuild of top end of xtz 660 engine. I've ordered OEM oversize piston and ring set. Will the ring gaps be correct after machining the cylinder bore to the specified size? Or I should be prepared to do some filing?
I've had a quick glance at the rings and one is dark color with some markings. I assume that this is a second ring which according to service manual is taper and should be installed with markings to the top. The other ring is shiny metal and I haven't seen any marks on it. According to service manual top ring is barrel shape. Does it mean that there is no difference in which side to top it will be installed?
