having primed some of the small bits that i am painting black, i mixed up a small jug of matt black and fired up my compressor. After two coats of black with about 20 mins tack time between the coats, let them set for a day and a half and then another two coats of clear coat on top to give them a bit of a shine. I cleaned the rear caliper guard to spray it black, but it came out looking good after the wire brush had done its thing, and i quite like the plain silver look, so i just sprayed it with three coats of clear laquer and left it at that. once it is back on the bike i might change my mind, but for now i will leave as is. sorry for the kak photo here
next in line was the front master cylinder. I haven't done the clear coat yet.
After my black paint had run out and while i waited for things to dry, i had a look about to see what else needs doing. and my worst being fibreglassing, i thought why the hell not get this over with sooner rather than later... still managed to make a fucking mess of it though
I pulled out my fairings and started prepping them for some fibreglass. On this fairing, one of the tabs had a crack through the middle of it and a slight crack along the ridge below it.
on the same panel, there was a small crack on the edge running inwards. I managed to bend the plastic and get the resin to ooze out the other side for a good bond and a strip of weave for good measure.
the next thing to do was to rebuild one of the tabs at the top of the panel where part of the headlight fairing mounts to. The tab was broken during one of my bikes narcoleptic episodes in the bush a while back. And this bloody stuff sticks like hell to anything and everything, so getting the mat to keep a semblance of shape was a pain in the arse. Managed a result though.

when that was done, out came the headlight cowling as it had a small crack on the one side. So a quick dab with some fibreglass and a bit of sanding later and its good to go. When i bought the bike there were already two extra holes drilled... tsk tsk
. two minutes work with the drill and "pigtail" and i was a happy lad again.
Now today i get back and see that the bloody thing has just vanished. 
No notification that i lost the bid, no email from the seller saying congrats on winning now where is my money....
