XT660Z MY 2015, Australia to Netherlands

Post by Adventure_Fever »

Hello Tenere fans, i have got a question regarding importing a motorbike from Australia to The Netherlands,

I'm riding around the world on a tenere, with the goal to go to every single country in the world within the decade. I have just done 10 months of riding in Australia. This journey unfortunatley had a diffrent ending than that i was expecting. With me leaving Australia i also wanted the bike to migrate with me to Europe, i have currently shipped my bike to The netherlands, from Australia. This might have been the dumbest thing i have ever done as i am struggling to get this bike registered in the Netherlands, Has anyone got experience with importing this type of bike to any EU Country or could someone help me? The bike is currently undergoing testing however the RDW Dutch roadworthy service, has stated that the Australian emission standards arent accepted.

I would be very much open to any tips and or suggestions.

Kind regards,

do you actually need to permanently import it - if you are travelling perhaps you can do a Carnet? I hve yet to do one but this is how most around the world achieves it.
