Hello all
i'm restoring a this bike, build in 1987
When I bouught it 25 years ago, the owner gave me also a full engine as spare
Under the bike there is an engine series 34L. The spare that I have is 34K01
Anybody can tell me the story of these engines and if can exchange the parts if i need to replace something

Re: TT600 59X - engine type
The 59x had 59x engines but these were prone to crankshaft bearing failure. So many of them had different engines installed.
The 34k is the earlier tt600 engine and I think more reliable, as is the xt600 34L tenere engine.
Probably most parts were interchangeable but the tt600 was 6V and had a hotter cam.
Your 34L engine may have had the 6v system installed to suit the bike. I would go with the 12v setup and more road oriented 34l engine if you have it.
If you title the thread 34L you might have a higher chance of answers on here.
