3aj new headlamps

Post by gobo »

Hello,

just to share with you my latest tenere project : I wanted to change the headlamps of my 3aj. I was inspired by the headlamps showed by Jenik in another topic few years ago. The lamps are Wesem lights, the rest is my design in FreeCad. Everything was laser cut in stainless steel.

Lamps :
wesem H4/R2 PES3.42201 and wesem H4/R2 PES3.42221

Haven't tested it yet on the road (it's winter now) but could see in my garage that they were giving much more lights that almost 40 years old original headlamps.

Good job! How about headlight angle adjustment?

The two parts are connected with the springs between them. By adjusting the tension of the springs you adjust the position on the plate that holds the lamps.

The drawback is that you have to remove the plastic cover in order to regulate your beam - normally you do it once, just afte the initial installation.

One of the springs is visible on the photo below. There are 2 springs at top and another two at the bottom of the plate that holds the lamps.
