Just got back from a 500mile ride over the weekend. Did a number of gravel tracks up the top of the north island (NZ) Spent quite a bit of time traveling with a full tank, so LOTS of weight on the front wheel.
Does any of the forum know of a fork brace for the 3AJ bikes? I have a high mudguard so the fork legs tend to do whatever they like? Not a large problem but noticable when the tank is full. :thanks:
Easiest solution would be go slower and watch the scenery but someone always has to play "Rodney Racer" and then its all on.... :nordie:

Not heard of one? :scratch: but you could make one utilizing the mudguard mounts. :thumb:

There was a fork brace on the swiss 3AJ I bought..... so I reckon they must have been available at some time from somewhere...

Hi mate
I turned mine upside down, no kidding. Bought a front end from an Aprilia Tuareg Wind 600, slots straight in. Got front wheel and tyre + yokes, all it needed was new bearings and a slight opening of the housing for the key barrel. The newman still works as well. David Lambeth bolted on the bits for me in 2006.
The forks are Marzocchi and not Kayaba as the stikker suggests, but they're much stiffer and the brembo front brake allows for 1 finger stoppies.

Just in case you think i don't get it dirty :lol:
The fork has stiffer spings from original and works great on the rough, but I ride with less fuel when off road 10-15lts max

Thanks Mezo and Geoff, Thats the sort if idea I had... although the USD's look tempting ET1310! NO! the Tenere is a commuter/ Sunday play bike. not a hoon mobile

Must remember to pack the camera more often. Went here and there but left the camera at the campsite in the tent :headslap: so only photos from around the camp....

Last time I had to straighten my front end I got the impression it was the handle bars that moved, possibly caused by the mounting rubbers getting too soft.

I've seen Tarozzi braces for the XT but I'm not sure where they can be bought.
