Hepco & Becker Pannier Rack Fitting.....

If anyone has some Hepco & Becker Pannier Racks, I could use some help....

I ordered some racks from Off The Road Performance Parts.de from Germany for my 55W and when I fit them something just does not seem right....

They bolt on but everything seems out of alignment and the side panels do not have enough clearance.

The part number on the packaging checks out for an XT600Z Tenere (1985) but I am wondering if they sent the wrong hardware...

The left side runs parallel to the bike but the right side angles out and does not look anything close to what it should be.

The tab, which I've shown with measurement, to me, seems like its about 1 1/2 inches too long.

If anyone out there who has these racks could take a look on their bike and get back to me it would be appreciated.

I'm in Canada, so shipping is a bitch and I don't want to be back and forth with the vendor if this is as good as it gets.

German engineering doesn't seem like it could be that bad!

I wasn't aware they made them for the 34L/55W ?

I know they make them for the standard XT600 & also the 1VJ & 3AJ

I am starting to wonder that, although I was assured by the vendor it was for the 55W.

Part number and the packaging that arrived is 650.427.0001 and shows XT 600 Tenere (1984 -1985)

The KEDO catalogue shows a rack for 1985 XT600Z as well, although it seems they have the own numbering for parts as nothing corresponds to the H&B site...

In any event, I have sent both Off the Road.de an email as well as Hepco & Becker corporate and await their reply.

Let's see what kind of customer service either outfit will provide....

Well apparently the racks are the correct ones for the bike. I am going to cut the front right tab and take approx 2 inches off to have the rack run parallel to the bike. Looks as though this will work on first mockup...
Otherwise racks are going to work well for soft luggage or hard system.
Not sure why they would have made them with the loop off kilter on the right side...
