Replacement swingarm pivot bushings NLA

Post by coxy321 »

Hello all! Long time lurker, first time poster!

I've got a 2010 model Tenere 660 (AUS delivered), and I'm having some real issues sourcing some parts for the swingarm. I bought the bike earlier this year and thought I'd do the right thing and service all of the linkage and swingarm bearings. When the time came to remove the main through-bolt that the swingarm pivots on (goes through the frame and the rear of the engine) I ran into issues - it was stuck in there good! I tried all of the usual tricks to get it out (heat, penetrating fluid, FBH, a puller and also a press) and made zero progress, so I had to resort to cutting the bolt out.

The steel bushings that run on the inside of the needle rollers in the swingarm were completely seized and rusted to the bolt - this joint has clearly not been touched since the bike was assembled in 2010. The issue I have now is that I cannot get replacement bushes, I've tried a dozen or so shops as well as several online stores overseas. Yamaha don't make the bushes anymore and nobody has stock or can source them elsewhere.

I tried contacting All Balls Racing several times hoping that they could look up their catalogue of bushes and find something that will fit, but it appears that they don't want to talk to their customers. I've called a few other custom parts shops, they also can't help. I've resigned to the fact that I might have to just wait for a used complete arm to pop up, buy it, and hope that I can use the bushes from it.

For reference, the part number is 11d-F2123-00.

If anyone can help out here it would be great - it's coming into riding season down here!

I’d find it odd that Yamaha don’t sell replacements. They still sell loads for eighties variants. Tried cmsnl and fowlers? They ship everywhere.
I’d also (while it’s apart) install grease nipples on the bearing points etc. Look at the old 1vj pics for ideas on location. I’d definitely do the swingarm.

For reference, it cost me about £200 to rebush my 1vj, (before realising I just hadn’t greased it before the mot. 😂🙈)

Hi mate, thanks for those pointers.

CMSNL have a part listed (https://www.cmsnl.com/products/bush-1_11df212300/) but it is flagged as "not available".
Fowlers have a listing in the parts schematic, but it is flagged as "Not in stock". I have contacted them to see if they are able to get stock.

All of the local (Australian) places I've tried ordering through have not been able to get their hands on the parts. They are ordering direct from Yamaha Japan, who's response is "Sorry, NLA". So, unless I can find a shop that has some on the shelves (highly unlikely), I'll keep trawling the internet. If I have any success I'll post an update!

Cheers

Jibber, thank you. The items are listed as "no postage OS", so I've messaged them to ask if they will post for me.

Fowler's direct have just emailed me back - not in stock and NLA. So, I'm guessing the eBay listed parts are either incorrect in their stock availability, or they are sitting on a shelf in their "eBay warehouse".

Aus.

Hate it when I can’t find stuff. I reckon they’re just waiting to make a batch so there’s little stock about. Can’t believe they wouldn’t supply mechanical parts for a bike only recently stopped. They’re normally pretty good. Good luck 🍺

Donny - goparts.eu is probably going to be my last attempt at placing an order through an online store in the hope that they can get parts that aren't in stock. They have the part listed as "Not in stock", I emailed them two days ago asking them to confirm if they can actually get the parts or not, so we'll see.

As far as First Class MC go I've already tried to order through them - got my order cancelled and refunded. Have tried doing the same with all of the major online Yamaha parts suppliers in Aus and they've all cancelled/refunded me unfortunately. I've tried a couple of physical dealerships too, all have come back "no stock and NLA". A couple of the more helpful shops have suggested I contact and engineering shop to get the bushes made.

Hopefully that eBay listing Fowlers have is correct and they'll ship to me...
